Can you protect leather sofas?
Yes. At Biomex, we provide leather sofa and upholstery protection using a specific treatment that penetrates the leather fibers and creates a protective barrier against liquids and stains without altering the feel or natural appearance.
Is leather protection safe for all types of leather?
Yes. The treatment is safe for all leather types, including by-cast leather, suede and nubuck.
Does the protection treatment change the color or texture of the sofa?
No. The product does not alter the touch, color or appearance of the fabric or leather. The finish remains natural and stain-free.

Yes. The product is non-toxic, hypoallergenic and safe for children, adults and pets.

Yes. The treatment should only be applied after professional cleaning to ensure the fabric is free from dirt and residues.
Can I protect rugs, headboards or chairs?
Yes. The treatment can be applied to rugs, carpets, upholstered chairs, headboards, sofas and other home textiles. Rugs are usually treated at our facilities, while other items can be treated at home.
Can I clean the sofa normally after protection treatment?
Yes. After the recommended curing period (up to 72 hours), the sofa can be cleaned and vacuumed normally. The treatment does not interfere with regular maintenance.
What should I do if liquid is spilled?
Absorb the liquid using paper towels or a clean cloth without rubbing.

We also offer professional cleaning for other items such as curtains, armchairs, upholstered chairs, headboards, and rugs, as long as they are in good condition, regardless of the material.
Is the cleaning safe for delicate fabrics?
Yes, the cleaning is tailored to the type of fabric, including more sensitive materials.
Do you provide waterproofing after cleaning?
Yes, we offer waterproofing after the cleaning whenever the customer requests it.
Is the cleaning done at home?
Yes, the cleaning is done at home, except for carpets. Carpets are collected and delivered to the specified address, but they are cleaned at Biomex’s facilities. For the other cleaning services, there is no need to remove the items from the location.

How long does it take to clean a sofa?
The cleaning time depends on the size of the sofa, the type of fabric, and the level of dirt. On average, the process takes between 1 to 2 hours. Larger sofas, such as chaise longues or modular models, may require more time.
How long does it take to dry?
Initial drying occurs within a few hours, but full effectiveness is only reached after 72 hours.
How long does the treatment take?
The process is quick and usually completed within 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the item.
Can I use the sofa on the same day?
Yes, as long as the fabric is dry to the touch. However, it is recommended to avoid spills during the first 72 hours.
How long does it take to clean a carpet?
The cleaning time depends on the size of the carpet, the type of fabric, and the level of dirt. On average, the process takes up to 6 weeks.
Will the items be wet after cleaning?
They may be slightly damp after cleaning, but never soaked. Our cleaning is done dry.
Can I use the sofa on the same day?
Yes, in most cases, it is possible to use the sofa on the same day.

Is it necessary to prepare the house before the visit?
We only recommend that the sofa is accessible and that personal items, blankets, or loose cushions are removed. The rest of the process is handled by our team, who will protect the surrounding area during the intervention.
Which areas do you cover?
We provide cleaning services across Mainland Portugal and also operate in several Spanish cities, including Madrid, Toledo, Valencia, Murcia and Vigo.
Do I need to prepare the space?
Only ensure access to the item and remove personal belongings. The team protects the surrounding area.
How often should the treatment be reapplied?
It is recommended to renew the treatment every 12 months. In homes with children, pets or intensive use, earlier reapplication may be necessary.
How long does the protection last?
Durability depends on use, friction and cleaning. On average, the treatment remains effective between 6 and 12 months.
Does the service come with a guarantee?
If there are any issues after the cleaning, the situation will be assessed to find the best solution.

What happens if I cancel the service?
In case of service cancellation, a travel fee will be charged.
How often should I clean the sofa?
In general, it is recommended to do a deep cleaning at least once a year. In homes with children or pets, it may be advisable to shorten this interval.
How often should I clean a carpet?
It is recommended to clean a carpet every 6 months. If the carpet is in a high-traffic area, it may be necessary to clean it every 3 to 4 months. If you have pets or children, more frequent cleaning is advised.
How often should I clean other home textile items?
The cleaning frequency depends on usage and the environment they are in. Mattresses should be cleaned once or twice a year. Curtains should be washed every 6 months, but if they are exposed to a lot of dust or smoke, they may need to be cleaned more frequently.

Can you remove old stains?
Many old stains can be significantly reduced or removed. However, if the dirt has already deeply penetrated the fibers or altered the fabric, the result may not be complete. Each case is evaluated individually before intervention.
Does it remove wine, coffee, or grease stains?
In most cases, yes. These stains are common and, when treated correctly, show good results. Timely intervention is a determining factor for complete removal.
Does it remove dust mites and bacteria?
Yes, deep cleaning significantly reduces the presence of dust mites, bacteria, and other microorganisms accumulated in the sofa.
Will the sofas, carpets, curtains, chairs, mattresses, and upholstery look like new?
In general, the improvement is visible and immediate, both in appearance and smell. However, cleaning does not repair structural wear, tears, or permanent fading of the fabric.
Does it solve mold or moisture problems?
Professional cleaning can remove surface stains caused by mold, but it does not address the root cause of moisture. If the structural problem persists, mold may reappear.
Does it remove pet odors?
Yes, the deep cleaning process works on the fibers of the fabric, also eliminating the organic residues responsible for the odors. If necessary, an additional odor removal treatment can be applied.
Is the "bubble effect" of the stain protection immediate?
The full effect is only achieved after 72 hours. However, some fabrics may not show the "bubble effect".
Does the cleaning remove all stains?
Most stains are successfully removed, but 100% removal cannot be guaranteed. If the fabric is too damaged and cleaning is not effective, the technician will inform you on-site.
Do you remove urine stains?
No. Professional cleaning removes the urine, but once the particles have settled into the fibers, it can be difficult to completely remove the yellowish stain.
Does the bubble effect always appear?
Not all fabrics show the “bubble effect”. Denser fabrics or tightly woven fibers may not display this visual effect but remain protected.
Does the treatment make everyday cleaning easier?
Yes. Dust, dirt and residues no longer stick as easily, making cleaning much simpler and faster.
Does the treatment protect against everyday stains?
Yes. It reduces liquid absorption and helps prevent common stains such as coffee, soft drinks, water, wine or grease.
Does the treatment prevent wear marks?
No. The treatment protects against liquids and dirt but does not prevent natural wear, fading or friction.
Does it protect against scratches?
No. Scratches and physical damage are not prevented by the treatment.
Does the treatment prevent all stains?
No. It does not guarantee 100% protection, but it drastically reduces the chance of permanent stains, especially if spills are cleaned immediately.
Does it protect against mold?
It helps prevent superficial moisture absorption but does not solve structural humidity problems.
Does it protect against ink or pen stains?
No. Ink and markers penetrate fibers quickly and are not blocked by the treatment.
What happens if a liquid stays on the fabric for too long?
The treatment delays absorption but does not completely prevent it. The faster the spill is cleaned, the better the result.
Does the treatment remove odors?
No. Its purpose is to prevent liquid and dirt absorption, not to remove existing smells.
Does it protect against pet urine?
The treatment reduces absorption but does not completely prevent penetration if the liquid remains on the fabric for too long.

How much does it cost to clean a carpet?
Rug cleaning prices vary according to size. A small rug starts at €30, a medium rug starts at €60, and a large rug starts at €100, reflecting the larger area and additional time required for sanitization.
How much does it cost to clean a mattress?
Cleaning a double mattress starts at €65, while cleaning a single mattress starts at €55. Prices include travel, deep sanitization and removal of mites, odors and stains whenever possible.
